History:

The Idea of founding Wintery got started when Markus and Erno decided to put up a band in the city of Oulu in Finland. They both shared a long lasting dream of a six-person melodic metal group. They also shared a past of composing/recording music as Fallen.

As time went by songs just popped out more and more. The idea of the project started sounding more and more realistic as they found a mutual sound to their composings and the songs weren't "Fallen-music" anymore. The singer was decided to be a woman.

Erno added a wanted-ad at muusikoiden.net and knew already a proficient guitarist who he asked to join the band. And not long after that all places were filled.

Eventually, a 6-person band was up and running: Markus (guitar), Erno (drums), Olli (bass), Mikko (keyboards), Pete (guitar) and Tiina (vocals).

In early 2008 Tiina decided to leave the band and shortly after that Mikko prioritized his projects and left Wintery also. In April Juha Jaatinen filled the open vocalist's vacancy and Anu Kämäräinen became the new keyboard player.
